Wheelchair-accessible cafes for scones, jam and tea

On National Cream Tea Day, we highlight six independent cafes in Sheffield offering an afternoon or cream tea.

Scones with jam and cream
Sarah Kilian

Whether you pronounce it sk-onn or sk-own, sometimes you just need a scone with plenty of jam, cream and lashings of tea. And as today is National Cream Tea Day, it’s the perfect time to head out for a cream tea or afternoon tea in one of these independent, wheelchair-accessible cafes in Sheffield.

The Cream Tea Society is encouraging people to donate to a charity of their choice as well as enjoying their delicious feast and, if you’re worried about etiquette (such as whether the jam or the cream goes on first), they can help with that, too (“Never use whipped cream. It’s utterly improper”).
