The Sheffield 'Taking It Slow' list

A big list of independent businesses in Sheffield which still have Covid-safe procedures in place. Last updated: 1 August 2021.

Monday 19 July 2021 was touted as Freedom Day, but taking away the few simple things that help keep us all safe has led many to feel more like it's the end of their freedom.

Fortunately, loads of Sheffield independent businesses have had the good sense to set their own rules, and are keeping social distancing, mask wearing, table service, screens, hand cleanliness and so on, at least until the third wave of the pandemic calms down.

I've been making a list of those places to help those of us concerned for the safety of friends, family, service workers and ourselves to choose where to shop, socialise, eat and drink and get our hair cut.

Each business listed here has its own set of policies, so I'd recommend checking their social media pages to find out exactly what they're doing, but all are keeping at least some of the safety precautions listed above.

It's nowhere near a complete list yet, so we'll keep updating it as we find more places to add. In the meantime, please email us with suggestions. Happy safe socialising!
