Sheffield Carnival: A Celebration for Everyone

Festival season is in full swing and on Saturday 17 August Supreme Origins are bringing Sheffield Carnival to Norfolk Heritage Park.

From 12-8pm, you can enjoy fairground rides, craft workshops, face painting, live music, and delicious food and drink from local traders.

There will be a costume parade starting at 3pm introducing Sheff's very own superheroes, The Sheffield Defenders, who are inspired by a love of superheroes and Yorkshire, Caribbean and worldwide fusion.

Andrea Risden, Director of Sheffield Carnival, said: "This is our third year bringing the spirit of carnival to the city, having not had a carnival here for over 20 years before 2017. We're thrilled to again be hosting it in Norfolk Heritage Park. I grew up experiencing the culture of carnival with my family and it's a delight to help create these lasting memories for families now."

Andrew Martin, Business and Development Director of Sheffield Carnival said: "It's wonderful to be bringing Sheffield to life using Carnival costume as a medium. Supreme Origins was formed out of our own involvement in Sheffield Carnivals in the 1980s to 1990s, and so to be able to share and celebrate the many cultures within Sheffield, once again, is a dream come true."

Carnival is made for everyone to enjoy and is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that we love about our city.

Sheffield Carnival will open at 12pm on Saturday 17 August with live acts on from 12:30-7:30pm on the community stage.
