Laughing for a decade: Leadmill Comedy Club turns 10
From small beginnings to comedy mainstay, the much-loved monthly club is celebrating a milestone year with a special show on 2 November.

The Leadmill Comedy Club is celebrating its tenth anniversary next month with a special show.
Since 2012, the much-loved local event has been steadfastly welcoming fans on the first Wednesday of every month. It's become renowned for bringing together the triumvirate of circuit comedians, mouth-watering food and big laughs for a great night out.
The night’s approach has always been to give punters a chance to
see the next big thing on the Leadmill stage, and provide an opportunity
for budding new comedians to make a name for themselves. Acclaimed
comics like James Acaster, Joe Lycett and Troy Hawke have all graced the stage.
On 2 November, in celebration of the decade milestone, the club will host Dana Alexander, Nina Gilligan, Peter Brush and Dean Coughlin.
As well as the monthly comedy club, the venue also puts on touring
comedians. This year they’ve already had the pleasure of being
entertained by Jon Richardson, Maisie Adams, Eddie Izzard and
Reginald D Hunter. In the coming weeks and months, they are hosting David O'Doherty and Chris McCausland,
as well as sold out-shows from Tom Allen and Mike Wozniak.
In what continues to be a tumultuous time for culture and the arts, it's important to give props to the folks who are working so hard to keep the sector alive and kicking – so be sure to raise a glass and have a laugh in honour of this comedy mainstay.
