A Magazine for Sheffield

Float Along Festival Organisers gear up for full festival announcement with a special preview show

The taster night at Sidney & Matilda will reveal the line-up for September’s main event, plus sets from W.H. Lung and Nightbus.

Ahoy Sheffield!

Float Along is now entering its third year, cementing its September place as the premier event in the Steel City’s indie music and new artist calendar.

2023's successful one-day festival included more than 40 bands, while past line-ups have featured The Murder Capital, Katy J. Pearson, Everything Everything, Prima Queen, English Teacher and the mighty Personal Trainer. That's a quality list.

For 2024, and ever the innovators, the organisers have come up with the splendid idea of a 6 April announcement show at Sidney & Matilda, coupled with the even better idea of engaging – for their third FA appearance – Manchester's brilliant W.H. Lung for what will no doubt be a stonker of a Gallery Stage set, all prefaced by the post-punk goth chic of Nightbus.

Sorrywhatpardon? What else is on offer did I hear you ask?

Well, I'm cryptically told to picture a very large board covered with ticket holder-created designs and textures that will be unceremoniously torn through to reveal the first wave of musical delights that September's festival will proudly showcase.

Oh, and ever fancied designing a festival poster yourself? Your ticket could be your opportunity, so why wait?

One thing is for sure shipmates, to participate in the fun and frolics, you'll need to secure your tickets poste haste.
