Sense of Place: Yellow Arch Relaunches Gallery

261 1548334417

Yellow Arch Studios is hosting a free entry re-launch evening for an exhibition in its White Room Gallery, its brand new creative space.

The studio has teamed up with curator Bridget Murray and several contemporary artists to create Sense of Place, a special outdoor world, place, space-themed exhibition, featuring work by printmaker Susan Wright, bookmaker Lina Avramidou, painter and illustrator Matt Midwood and many more.

Sense of Place is a response to the latest United Nations report on climate change, centred around work that considers, examines and reflects on recent serious climate warnings.

Curator Bridget Murray said: "I think the more that people are aware of international and environmental issues can only be a good thing for all of us.

"If art can provoke a response, a thought, a feeling, a question or idea and ultimately a conversation, then that's a good place to start."

The exhibition contributes to Kelham's thriving alternative and creative scene, an area that has undergone a transformation in recent years.

The Sense of Place launch event will take place on Sunday 27 January, 7pm and the exhibition will run until Monday 11 February. More information via Facebook.
