DELVE DEEPER. 1^st JUNE / FEZ CLUB / £8. Anyone who knows about Delve Deeper will know that they have been pushing deep house music in Sheffield for close to six years. In that time, one name has stood at the forefront of deep house globally – Jimpster,of which DD is a host night on his official album launch tour. Link DRENGE. 1^st JUNE / THE HARLEY / £7. The Loveless brothers play us a very special show at the start of June; complete with friends, DJs, zines and burger offers from The Harley's artery-busting new menu. Student driven charitable festival hitting up a variety of Sheffield establishments, including the Raynor Lounge, the University Arms, The Harley and DQ. All proceeds go to Safe@Last. Link ANTIFOLK FESTIVAL. 6^thJUNE / PENELOPES / £6. New York’s Toby Goodshanks, once of the legendary Moldy Peaches, heads up this event. Also on board is Filthy Pedro, pioneer of the British Antifolk movement, as well as the hugely entertaining Biscuithead & the Biscuit Badgers from Leeds. Link STEEL CITY CARNIVAL. 7^th JUNE / SPEEDWELL WORKS WAREHOUSE / £6. Banana Hill and The Catch Connection join forces in creating a tropical summer beatdown like no other – LV & Josh Idehen, Werkha, The Busy Twist, K.O.G. & The Allstar Revolution amongst the many performers on the night. Caribbean food thrown in as an added benefit. Link THREE VALLEYS BEER FESTIVAL. 8^th JUNE / DRONFIELD/ FREE. A line up of pubs and a brewery teamed up to provide a big festival of beer, cider, music, attractions & food all linked by a special bus service. If you like cruising and you like boozing, this combination of pubs, boozes and cruises is absolutely perfect. Link INDIAN TAKEAWAY. 11^th JUNE / PLUG / £15. A race against time as Hardeep Singh Kohli orders a local takeaway, then attempts to cook his own before the meal arrives. The show culminates with audience members coming up and tasting both. Who shall be crowned curry king? There’s only one way to find out! Link DOC/FEST. 12^th-16^th JUNE/ SHEFFIELD / PRICE VARIES. Doc/Fest brings the international documentary family together to celebrate the art and business of documentary making for five intense days in June. Now in its 20th Year, Sheffield Doc/Fest is proudly one of the top three documentary festivals in the world. Link BROOMHILL FESTIVAL. 14^th JUNE / FOX & DUCK / FREE. A small part of the lengthy Broomhill Festival shall be this evening of acoustic folk and comedy. Up there among Bob Marley, Toots Hibbert, Peter Tosh et al, Jimmy Cliff is a worldwide reggae superstar. Proving his live shows still pack an almighty punch, the JC experience visit the Plug as part of their most recent Europe Tour. Link CROSSPOOL FESTIVAL. 28^th JUNE / CROSSPOOL / NOMINAL ENTRANCE FEE. The inaugural event for the fresh-faced Little Owl Presents team, easing their way into the scene with an unplugged affair at the Rutland Arms.
