The Leadmill has been open since 1980.

The Leadmill are undercutting shops selling toilet roll at inflated prices by buying it in bulk and selling it to customers at cost price.

The independent nightclub on Leadmill Road have ordered a whole pallet from their usual supplier and are selling packs of four for £1.83 on their website.

"This is a big fuck you to all those companies that are using this horrible, horrible pandemic to greedily profit from desperate people in need of essential supplies," said general manager Ian Lawlor.

We will be making no profit, the price on the website just covers the cost for us to do this

"We should be using this time to help as many people as possible."

Panic buying across the UK has led to toilet roll shortages, with some shops raising prices to over £1 a roll to cash in on coronavirus stockpiling.

"We will be making no profit, the price on the website just covers the cost for us to do this," said the club in a statement. "It's going to be a tough few months for us and all of Sheffield, so let's band together and help each other."

Since it opened in 1980, the live music venue has hosted early performances by globally-famous Sheffield bands including Pulp, Arctic Monkeys and The Human League.

At their Sheffield Arena show in 2012, Pulp threw rolls of toilet paper across the stage to recreate the DIY special effects at their first ever performance at The Leadmill.
