We're dreaming of hot coffee, long lunches, colourful cuisines and full bellies, and with less than two days to go until the official opening of Kommune - the brand new food department in Castle House - our dreams will soon come true.

From the 22-24 March, Kommune will be welcoming the public through its doors to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner while indulging in tasty local brews, organic wines, sumptuous cocktails and, for those who enjoy their beverages alcohol-free, homemade cordials and sodas.

Kommune is brought to you by the folks behind Tamper, The Depot Bakery and Kollider Projects and is just one component of an exciting regeneration project taking place within Castle House and the surrounding area. The project brings together a vibrant collection of independent kitchens, brewers and retailers with the purpose of enriching the heart of Sheffield's old city centre and providing a unique space for independent businesses to flourish.

The food line-up has been announced and features ten glorious kitchens, including well-known Sheff faves such as Pom Kitchen, JH Mann and Yoki, and some new kids on the block like Fat Hippo, MorMor, Chaat Cart, Baked in Brick and Shoot the Bull. Tamper Coffee and The Depot Coffee will be in residence too, bringing with them their speciality coffee, freshly baked bread and delicious pastries.

Also joining the mix will be Hop Hideout, who'll keep you stocked up on all your favourite craft beers and ciders, and specialist magazine, book and printing shop La Biblioteka, who'll keep you clued up on all the new and creative happenings in the world of print. And finally, Kommune's art department, also known as The Viewing Room, will be curated by 99 Mary St and DED design agency. The gallery will be the home of unique exhibitions, events and workshops with a focus on getting people involved in contemporary art.

Kommune will be open from 9am 'til late on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Come on down.
