Motion Exercise - Marketing Volunteer

At Motion Exercise we envision a world where everyone lives healthier and happier. Where people are empowered to maintain autonomy and control over their own healthy ageing.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within a growing social enterprise, where you will work closely with Directors and team-mates. Through this you will learn how to develop and execute against an effective marketing strategy and develop excellent communication and project management skills. This is a part-time, flexible, voluntary position.

Yorkshire Chocolate Festival - Photography Volunteer

The Yorkshire Chocolate Festival will take place on Saturday 15th October at Magna Science Adventure Centre, Magna Way, Templeborough, Rotherham S60 1FD.

Photography volunteers are essential to help us capture every aspect of The Yorkshire Chocolate Festival, increase fundraising potential and advertising opportunities for the future. We will of course credit your work when used. We welcome volunteer applications from people of all backgrounds.

Light Peer Support - Dad Peer Support Volunteer

Light is a registered charity set up 9 years ago to support families in pregnancy and up to 2 years postnatal. This support is available to any parent experiencing emotional difficulties in pregnancy or after having a baby.

We need dads who have experienced difficulties with their own mental health around the time of child birth and postnatally, and who would like to help other dads who are struggling at the moment, to help us facilitate our monthly dads meet-up and support dads one-one. Our aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where dads can talk to other dads about how they are feeling without judgment.

Light Peer Support - One-to-One Peer Support Volunteer

Light is a registered charity that was set up by a group of Sheffield mums, each with their own individual stories, uniting together to raise awareness and offer peer support to families who are struggling with their mental health, including postnatal depression and anxiety, around the time of having a baby.

Could you use your own experience of postnatal depression or anxiety to offer much-needed support to parents and their families? We are looking for dedicated and compassionate people to be a buddy to parents who are struggling. Join our fantastic team of volunteers, receive full training and help us to make a difference.

Sheffield Cathedral - Sound Desk Volunteer

What will I be doing?

  • Set up the sound desk, microphones and any other audio equipment.
  • Liaise with staff operating any live-stream that sound levels are correctly balanced for any live-streaming output.
  • Control the sound equipment both at services and at other times, as the rota requires.
  • Operate the sound desk in a professional manner to ensure optimum sound quality.
  • Log the attendance numbers of any particular service or event.
  • Liaise with the clergy and Head Verger with regard to service needs.
  • At the end of the service or event, replace any audio equipment and accessories in their correct places.
  • Correctly shut down the sound desk.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned, appropriate to the role of sound desk operator.

Sheffield Talking News (for the Blind and Visually Impaired) - Administrator for Third Party Recording Services

Your role will be to coordinate the production of occasional audio recordings for third party organisations. The role involves liaising with organisations regarding their requirements, arranging for the recording within our charity, and ensuring delivery and charging are fulfilled. There is also scope for developing this service.

Goalball UK - Activator on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th September

Are you interested in volunteering at Goalball UK events? Sign up to become a Goalball Activator. You don’t need any qualifications or prior knowledge of goalball to start volunteering with us. Whatever your skill set, our inclusive environment allows everyone to get involved.

Becoming a Goalball Activator is also the first step on the Goalball UK officiating pathway. With ten officials required to run a game, we are always looking for new people to get involved. As an Activator official you will support the game by undertaking the Goal Judge and table officiating roles: Scorer, Timer, and Ten Second Timer.
