After a career in mobile phone technology and working around the world, I finally got back to my roots and (kind of) retired in my home town of Sheffield.

I trained in physics in the 1970s - Harold Wilson’s ‘white heat of technology’, the Apollo moon landings and all that. And I’ve had quite a ride out of it. I’ve worked in China, Japan and the USA and was involved in bringing the first European digital mobile phone to market.
