Now Then Discounts App

Summer Deal
nowthenmagazine.com/discounts

It's been well over two years and some 21,000 installs since we launched the Now Then Discounts App. True to one of our core founding principles, the app is aimed at encouraging people to change their shopping habits and to regularly support our city's passionate and unique independent traders, contributing to the local economy of Sheffield, rather than the wealth of often-distant multi-national shareholders.

Users can browse individual trader profiles, from takeaways to music venues, get the low-down on their wares and their USP, then take a look at offers and discounts with that business, some of them super exclusive. Then it's just a matter of showing their phone at the point of sale. It works on Android and iOS, and also has a nifty map function to aid navigation.

Traders pay a small fee to be listed on the app and over summer we are making it even cheaper for them to get signed up. All sign-ups during July and August are priced at £120 + VAT for a full 12 months (33p per day, a £30 saving on our standard price) or £80 + VAT to be listed on the app for a period of six months (44p per day, £10 discount). We'll also throw in two free push notifications - pop-up messages sent out to our 15,000 app users, which are usually £20 a pop - as well as tweets, retweets, love and support via our @NTDiscounts and @NowThenMag Twitter accounts, which have to over 13,000 followers in total. We're keen to enable traders to promote competitions and special announcements across our Twitter feeds as well, so get in touch before 1 August.

The Now Then Discounts App enables traders on a low budget to reach an engaged audience who are actively seeking to purchase more goods and services from independent traders in Sheffield. If you're interested in getting in touch to find out more about how your business can get on the Now Then App, please contact us or take a look at our at our information pack online.

Porter Brook Deli

354 Sharrow Vale Road porterbrookdeli.co.uk

Imagine a world without cheese. It doesn't bear thinking about, does it?

That's why Porter Brook Deli are such a Sharrow Vale Road mainstay. Nick and Nicky's expertise in all things deli-related is all-encompassing and their rotating weekly cheese selection strikes a fine balance between old favourites and exciting new varieties.

While Porter Brook were already sourcing cheeses from Andy Swinscoe at the Courtyard Dairy in Settle, who was named Cheesemonger of the Year at the World Cheese Awards in 2013 (seriously), they are now also working with Neal's Yard Dairy, whose three London shops are world-renowned for their farmhouse offerings.

This new working relationship means Porter Brook Deli now offer the absolute cream of the crop of British cheese, made with passion and animal welfare in mind and matured to be the very best it can be. It just doesn't get any better than this.

So next time you're in their neck of the woods, pop into the Deli and talk cheese. Their advice is top-notch and it's one of their favourite topics.
