Editorial

We’ve finally taken the plunge and done our first landscape magazine, and we couldn’t think of a more suitable candidate for featured artist than Andy Brown, a local photographer with a good eye and a hugely varied back catalogue of images. Particularly worth perusing are his shots of the residents of Park Hill and his Peak District collection.

This month’s magazine is a special issue celebrating Off the Shelf Festival of Writing and Reading, which takes place across Sheffield between 8th and 29th of this month. Turn to page 28 for our pick of the scheduled events. You can also find interviews with poet Daljit Nagra and climate change expert Mike Hulme on pages 22 and 30 respectively, while this month’s Wordlife includes poems from Wendy Cope, Daljit Nagra and Joe Dunthorne.

Our food page is themed around Indian cuisine and our music interview is with Glaswegian instrumental rock band Mogwai. There are various other topics covered elsewhere, including a piece on the UK Uncut movement.
